MOHAWK CANOE CLUB PADDLING AWARDSWhat to do to receive an awardComplete a mileage report form, this form is included in the November and/or December issue of the Postcard, the monthly newsletter of the Mohawk Canoe Club. Fill out the form, and return it to the Club Historian. The return address and deadline for submission are listed on the form. List your trips from starting point to end point of the waterway. All awards are presented in January at the Annual Dinner of the Mohawk Canoe Club. Applying for multiple awardsIf you are submitting your miles for special awards other then total miles then submit an additional MCC mileage report form for each award you apply for (Delaware Award, Trip of the Month Award, etc.). Reporting stationary milesTotal Miles can be calculated as actual trip miles paddled and other time on the water that is used for training, surfing, clearing, and playing, in hours. The formula is: every hour on the water not used during the actual trip is equivalent to three miles. List total trip miles, and the number of hours not used for the trip listed as a separate entry. Keep your own records and submit them on the MCC mileage report form to the Club Historian; the form has been changed to include the new "Hours" column. Mohawk Canoe Club Mileage LogThe Mohawk Canoe Club has maintained a mileage log of all Governing Members since the Club was founded in 1903. You must be a Governing Member to have your mileage recorded in this historical record. NoteYou must be a Cruiser Member or a Governing Member of the Mohawk Canoe Club to receive the above awards. Governing Membership is the membership group from which the officers of the Mohawk Canoe Club are elected. The Governing Members establish the policies, administer the business and plan the activities of the Club. |
